The East Hawai‘i Cultural Center is pleased to announce the opening reception of ‘KINDRED SPIRITS: Exploring Interrelationships Between People, Places and Planet Earth,’ an immersive and sensory exhibition curated by Temple Children and supported by the County of Hawai‘i.

‘Kindred Spirits’ addresses our collective global consciousness and commitment to permaculture as a critical tool in determining the future of our planet. This experiential collection of mixed-media installations embodies our shared empathy for one another and the will to act collectively to better serve the environments we are fundamentally reliant on. The ‘Kindred Spirits’ exhibition showcases artists of varying backgrounds and mediums to explore the points where art and environmentalism intersect, celebrating the diversity of ideas, cultures and people, and honoring our collective home, Planet Earth. Temple Children is an experimental art collective and artist residency that unites a diverse global community of creatives to generate collaboration for positive change. This group challenges us to look inward and recognize our individual values, consumption, and the interconnectedness between all living things.

The ‘Kindred Spirits’ opening reception will be held on Friday, November 1 at 6:00 PM at East Hawai‘i Cultural Center, Kalākaua Street.
