Craig Jenkins = Panchatantra & Ramayana

Program type
Performance
Dates
Friday, May 12, 2017 - 19:30

English Storyteller CRAIG JENKINS will tell tales from India in May. Craig tells stories from the Panchatantra (animal teaching tales, India’s Aesop’s fables), and chapters from India’s classic love story, the Ramayana.

Craig wins over audiences across the world with his funny, vibrant, & interactive shows. His animal characters text and use Facebook. His Ramayana has a more respectful tone to bring chapters of this complex epic to life. Nobody tells these tales like Craig, even in India! This is his first visit to our islands. Don’t miss him!

"Witty & hilarious, Jenkins is a totally mesmerizing performer!”

(Sakal Times, Pune India)

CRAIG JENKINS grew up in London. There, in college, he met an Indian storytelling professor (guru), fell in love with Indian tales, and moved there (2010) to learn more. Now he lives in London and Chennai (western coast). Craig’s original voice has toured all of India (audiences love him, especially when he bursts into a Bollywood songs!) He’s also toured Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and London. He continually teaches drama to slum children in London & Chennai. He does residencies in a rural village school for underprivileged kids learning traditional performing arts. Craig just earned an MA in Gender Studies. Be delighted! Catch this ‘shooting star’ in Hawaii!
