CONTEMPORARY JAPANESE TEA CEREMONY

Program type
Special Event
Dates
Sunday, September 11, 2016 - 17:00

At EHCC we provide a platform for cultural expression. In addition to the visual and performing arts, we offer educational programming and social events from cultures all around the world.

We are excited to partner with Japanese Tea Ceremony master, Phillipe Nault, and Tea Hawaii, both of whom will bring their invaluable expertise in the world of tea to EHCC as we introduce our latest program titled Tea Ceremony.

‘Tea Ceremony’ will be a series of events beginning in September. Each month we will explore the diverse practices of preparing and drinking tea from around the world. We will be featuring traditional Chinese and Japanese tea ceremonies, English high tea and tea from our own local growers right here on the Big Island. Highlighting our local tea growers, Chiu Leong and Eva Lee, founders of Tea Hawaii, will be joining us in December.

Throughout history around the world, the ritual of tea, has offered people the opportunity to come together. Tea ceremonies promote conversation and relaxation as well as a unique culinary experience. We hope that you can come and share your own stories and experiences. Seating is limited so reserve yours soon. Registration priority will be available for our members
